Moneygram transfer to Nanyuki

I'm thinking of sending cash to myself to be picked up in Nanyuki before a Mt Kenya climb. I'll be in Uganda and Rwanda for ~1½ months before Kenya and I'm just too paranoid to carry around wads of cash. Prefer traveller's checks but the consensus on this board is that Kenya is bad for exchanging TCs. ATMs aren't going to cut it either because of daily withdrawal limits.

The only Moneygram agent in Nanyuki is Nanyuki Equator Sacco. Is it a bank? Has anyone used them?
