Menengai Holidays Ltd in Nairobi

Dear all, a friend and I are thinking of using Menengai Holidays Ltd in Nairobi, Kenya to do a photographic safari, travelling from Nairobi by road vehicle to Samburu, Nakuru and the Maasai Mara in August and September. I would be grateful if you could comment:
1. Reliability and honesty of the company
2. Reliability of the vehicles used
3. Ability and knowledge of driver/guides
4. Quality of service and ability to resolve any issues
5. Any positive and negative experiences, not necessarily confined with Menengai Holidays Ltd, eg lodges to avoid etc.

I would be grateful of your experiences and look forward to your comments.

Hi, I saw your post about a safari company. I have not used that company, but thought I'd give you the name of the company I used when I went 2 years ago (and am using again this Aug), Austalken Tours. They are amazing... it's a family owned and run company. They tailor your itinerary to exactly what you want (we did all the parks you mentioned and a couple more), their prices are unmatched (based on my own research and conversations in lodges with other travelers), and the service is terrific. The guides are the brothers in the family, and their father is a prof at the Univ of Nairobi, so they grew up camping and hiking and tracking wildlife with their dad. Our guide, Symon, became a fast friend. He seemed just as excited as we were to spot wildlife, and he went through field guides with us to identify species or point out what to keep our eye our for. He is VERY knowledgable about the wildlife, politics, history, and culture in Africa. They also went above and beyond for me when I got very ill at the end of my trip. I'm taking my husband back with me (it will be his first time there) and I contacted Australken right away when we decided to go.
I know this isn't what you asked for, but I cannot say enough great things about this company.

The lodges I loved most were the Kekerook in the Mara (I think I spelled it wrong), and the Samburu Lodge. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them! Good luck planning your trip!
