Is a Yellow fever cert needed if travelling from Zambia via Botswana to S Africa?
Many thanks..

If you look at the WHO Yellow Fever Requirements www.who.int/ith/ITH_country_list.pdf it appears that South Africa does require it for travellers from Zambia despite Zambia not have much risk of yellow fever transmission.

Yes I can confirm this. I lived in SA and flew back from Livingstone, Zambia on one of my trips and the customs agent looked at my yellow fever cert.

Actually there might be a time requirement. As you're goignt through Botswana, perhaps you dont' need it if you stay there for x amount of days. Cant' confirm this though so best bet is to get your yellow fever cert.

South Africa can be pretty nasty about enforcing YF requirements, by all reports.

As of Feb. 2015, South Africa has changed its requirements that people arriving from Zambia produce certificates.

Travellers from Zambia; Tanzania; Eritrea; Somalia; Sao Tome and Principe will no longer be required to produce proof of the yellow fever certificate when coming to South Africa after they were included on the World Health Organisation Low risk yellow fever countries list.

However, there is always the possibility that some immigration official has not yet gotten the word.
