Hotel In Kampala with airport pickup

Hi

I am flying into Entebbe at 10pm on Jan 13th. I would like to get somewhere to stay that night in Kampala. Does anyone know of a hotel in Kampala that does an airport pickup ? I’m meeting friends the next morning and we’re hoping to get a bus at 10am to Gulu so would prefer to stay in Kampala than Entebbe.

My recommendation would be to find a hotel in Entebbe - at the time of night you are arriving it will be closer to 11.30/midnight before you are through immigration and customs and then its around an hour to down-town Kampala. I am not aware of hotels in Kampala that do airport pick-ups (but it could be arranged - probably $50-70 US). Most of the better places in Entebbe will provide/arrange pick-up for around $10 US - less if you arrange to stay a couple of nights (one inbound and one outbound). The advantage of staying in local is that you will be in bed by midnight - and most of the hotels in Entebbe are situated in quieter locations than downtown Kampala so you should get a good nights sleep.
There are a number of hotels in the Entebbe area to meet most budgets. Trip adviser will help (or a good guide book).

I would have to disagree - Whilst you are right about being late I would expect to clear imigration and customs quicker (aim for seats near the front of plane). The problem with staying in Entebbe overnight is that you would then being going to kampala in the rush hour.

hopefully someone can recommend a hotel but would be helpful if you gave some idea of budget

Banda Inns in Muyenga, Kampala picked us up from the airport late at night, in fact we just got there in time to celebrate New Year. They're lovely people and if you need to get into Kampala centre the next day they'll get you there. If you get the opportunity stay more than one night

Thanks for your replies. I would prefer to stay in Kampala for the night. I will mail Banda Inns and see if a taxi is easy to arrange for the next morning and how long it will take.

Hamidah, can you please suggest other alternatives for around US$50-60 a night please?

Im pretty sure they offer airport pickup.
I used to visit them a lot when I was "in town" while I lived in Uganda and as I remember, it were pretty cool and loyal guys.

I can as well recommend www.veronahotel.ug. Will pick you up and is just 5 minutes to bus station
