Finding tents in Tana and quad bikes in Toliara?

Hi all,

I have two questions that someone might be able to help me with. I'll be heading to Madagascar soon on a research trip and will be camping for about ten months with research assistants.

First of all, I'm wondering if there is any place to buy good quality tents in Antananarivo? I know that in the past it has been really difficult to find decent camping supplies in-country, but I'm trying to avoid having to carry base camp-style tents in my luggage.

Second, does anyone know if and where ATVs/quad bikes can be purchased in Toliara? You see them there all the time, but I don't know if they're rental or what. I know I can get them in the capital, but I'm trying to avoid the cost of shipping them down south.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I visited this shop while in Tana. If you'll be there long time then its a must that you visit them ! They are in the heights of Tana.
