Ferries between Port Bell & Mwanza (Tz)

Guys,

Does anyone know:

a) whether the ferries between Mwanza (Tz) & Port Bell (Uganda) are still operating?

b) if so, are they car ferries? ie do they carry vehicles?

If answer is yes, any info regarding the ferries (timetable, contact numbers etc) would be very helpful.

The ferry between Port Bell and Mwanza is a cargo one. Passengers may hire a vehicle from Kampala and travel to Mwanza via Mutukula border

Just spoke to a travel operator in Arusha. He said the ferry between Mwanza & Port Bell is still running. But he didn't know how many times per week. Did you find out anything new? I too am trying to make that work. Bill
