Dahab - Beach Access

We are traveling to Dahab in early October and staying for 10 weeks, having rented a small apartment situated away from the sea front approximately mid-way between Acacia Hotel and Peace Road.

We spent a week in Dahab about six years ago and I am trying to renew my knowledge of the geography of the place! We enjoy spending lazy days on the beach (and snorkelling, of course) and remember the excellent Lagoon area.

However, is there public access to stretches of sand any closer? Perhaps at a beach bar for instance, maybe a little way north or south of Acacia Hotel? Just to spare our senior legs occasionally!
