Chobe for backpakers

Hi there!

We are traveling to Botswana on November by 2WD car, so we would like to go into Chobe by a day trip 4WD, Boat or by foot with a guide for two days and one night. We gonna cross the border from Namibia to Botswana around Kasane. We are looking for something cheap, we are not looking for anything luxury.

Our questions are:

1- Is it possible to rent those services in Kasane?
2- If it is possible someone have idea of the prices?
3- Could you give a number o web site of those people?

Yes it is possible to get those services in Kasane. Contact Messiah Matolela at the Botswana tourism office in Kasane ,she will help you with everything you need. Her email address is mmatolela@botswanatourism.co.bw

Another choice is to stay in Kasane and go on day trips into the park, coming back to the car at night. The river boat game drive is one of the best experiences we have had in Africa, though the number of sightings one may have will vary. The Botswana Tourism Office can help with that as well.
