Carry bike on buses

Does anyone have direct experience in carrying bikes on buses in Egypt? Is it allowed? Do they put them on top of the bus or in the luggage room? Is it safe for the bike?

Yes, it is allowed. We carried them on top of the bus, in the luggage compartments underneath and even inside the bus! Expect to pay half your ticket for transporting the bikes.
