Car Hire in FesCountry forums / Africa / Morocco
Hi All, | ||
Not a silly idea at all. I have done it. But check Avis, Hertz and other companies for rated. Car rental in Morocco is very expensive, but the flexibility it gives is great. I took the long way--Fes/Merzouga/Dades Gorge/Zagora/Marrakech. Very scenic. But be careful of the crazy drivers and never drive in the evening or at night. | 1
I mean "rates" not "rated." | 2
How long did it take you to do Fes/Merzouga/Dades Gorge/Zagora/Marrakech? | 3
My Plan is 4 nights in Fes and Four nights in Marrakech, so probbaly don't have time to take a scenic route I just thought it may be nicer to drive between the two than catch the train | 4
The small companies rarely allow you to drop off in another city - Marocfan is right, go for the large companies (it's safer anyway, as they tend to have better insurance). | 5
ignore mustafa200; he is a tout. | 6
Ok, so basically my questions is, is it silly to hire the car for the day to drive from Fes to Marrakesh in one day, as I do not have time to do a whole road trip. | 7
Yes. And MUCH more expensive. | 8
Thanks for the help! | 9 | |
It would also be silly to just visit Fes and Marrakech. Morocco is a beautiful country and the most beauty is in the countryside. You would miss a lot by just staying in cities. I would shorten my time in the city, 3 days in each is enough for the beginning, and put in some nature. | 10
There's nothing in the bled! | 11
