Almond Blossom Festival in Tafroute

Does anyone know the dates of this festival in Feb/Mar 2018? We are doing a road trip, hope not to prebook but hear hotels are booked out on this festival.

.... the decision on dates for the festival are made locally and late. It's primarily an agricultural and cultural event, the appearance of the Blossoms dictate the date, Spring comes early in the western Anti-Atlas Mountains given its close proximity to the warm Atlantic air currents, dates varied in the past from early February to March, the dates are a bit like the third secret of Fatima, the few who know won't tell.!

Thanks for the info. I emailed a hotel there and he gave the same answer, no one knows yet!? Doesn’t matter to us that much, we have a road trip planned and were going to be there at the end of February so wanted to see if we would be lucky enough to be there then, but will just wait and see. Also thought it might be necessary to reserve a room at that time, hoping to do our trip without planning that far ahead. Looks like a great area.

...... if you'er in the western Anti-Atlas area in February take a trip into the mountains and see the amazing display of blossoms, flowers and new bright grasses, whether you see it up-close or from a distance, the colours are phenomenal, a rare colour experience.

.... when the Festival dates are decided hotel accommodation will be snapped up and prices soar. If you want to attend the Festival, I suggest you find a hotel in Tiznit which is less than 2 hours from Tafraoute, or Agadir where from Inezgane the trip takes less than 3 hours by taxi/car or upto 4 hours by bus.

Because of the twisty mountain roads the bus takes longer than a car to do either trip.
