Abydos to Dahab

I need to figure out how to get from Abydos to Dahab

To get from Abydos to Dahab you can either:
1- get to Luxor by road, fly to Cairo, fly to Sharm el Sheikh, get to Dahab by road
2- get to Hurghada by road (probably via Luxor or Safaga), get to Sharm el Sheikh by ferry, get to Dahab by road.

Check connections carefully and allow for some delays, the ferry is not daily, and some road trips must be made within scheduled, guarded convoys.

Go to Luxor, there are buses (it took me 17 hours) to go from Luxor to Dahab and you don't have to change bus (Delta East). Alternatively go from Luxor to Sharm first (there are more buses) and then from Sharm to Dahab by bus or taxis. Ferry between Hurghada and Sharm don't run every day and if it runs, there is only one a day, so it is more dificult to schedule your trip but if if fits your schedule it is fastest.
