4x4 car rental in Maputo

Hi everyone,

I was searching to rent a 4x4 in Maputo for my Kruger and Inhambane trip. The prices listed in Europacar and Avis are extremely expensive, at above $200 a day. A 10 day trip would cost more than $2000 sans the gasoline.
Does anyone know another reliable source to rent 4x4s in Maputo (to return to Maputo)?

Also, I would like to do some driving around Tofo - hence I had thought a 4x4 would be more reliable over one of those little Kias. Does anyone have experience driving around that area in both types of cars?

You don't need a 4x4 a normal small saloon is fine - the roads in Kruger are either paved or very good gravel.

Great website and nice to know about local cheaper options. A bit worried about insurance that they have etc. Have they been OK?

Also do you think one of those small hutch back type KIA cars may suffice? (Maputo - Tofo)
