Tanzania

I am looking in to flying to Dar from London and then travelling to Mikumi. It looks as if there used to be a train of some sorts that isn't running and we have been quoted a few big sums to fly there which I don't fancy. Is there another way - bus? Or is it possible to haggle with a taxi driver to take us down there? Cost?

raised from US $ 50 to 100. The visa is now called "MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA"
and is valid for three months. This is a reciprocal arrangement between
the two sovereign countries. Please be advised accordingly

Just letting you know about these fees! I just came back from Selous and the good and trustable info on the park fees is that, YES they have been changed from July 1st on - from US$ 30 to US$ 50. The conservation fee of US$ 25 applies ONLY IF you stay inside the park. I will be in Tanzania for 3 days in October (17-20). What hotel would you recommend please? I just need something simple that is clean and safe and has a good shower.

Also, what beaches would you recommend. I really enjoy snorkelling. I guess ideally the hotel should be close to one of those beaches.
