Hi everybody,

a friend and I are planning to climb Kili at the end of october. Actually, we were thinking of starting the climb on 22nd or 23rd of October so there will be full moon on the last stages of the climb. Machame (6days/5nights) is our preferred route.

Anybody wants to join? I think a slightly larger group might get better quotes from tour operators (and it might be more fun).

We already emailed some tour operators and got quotes but we are still not sure, if we should book in advance or…

Hi,

I'm currently working in Arusha, but trying to plan a bit of travelling to Uganda/Rwanda. I'm intending to travel to Mwanza and then via boat to Bukoba then onwards. I was wondering if anyone has done a similar route, and if so:

- Which bus company goes from Arusha to Mwanza via Serengeti?
- Is that route awful, and if so, which company would you use to go via Kenya?
- Do you have to book the overnight ferry from Mwanza to Bukoba in advance, and if so how?
- What is transport like from Bukoba…

Hi there,

I'm pouring over a travel guide and websites in preparation for a trip to Kenza and Zanzibar at the end of November. My boyfriend and I are starting off with a combination of a safari and a stay in Mombasa and at the Pinewood Village on Diani beach. Then we're ending our trip on Zanzibar for probably 4 nights. We'll likely have 2 days in Stone Town, but then are headed for the beach. There are lots of different options for beaches and hotels, and it's kind of breaking my brain at the…

Hi all-
Sorry to start ANOTHER thread about where to stay in Zanzibar...BUT I have been trying to get 3 rooms (3 couples) for 30 Dec-2 Jan in Stone Town for new years and can't find anything that I will have to sell my soul to afford. I've tried the places I've seen in the thorn tree. I'm looking for something around 50-100 us a night. Know anything?
Thanks so much
Nora

Hello,

We want to book a safari in advance via e-mail. Roy Safari offers us a 4 day safari for 2 persons in the Serengeti Park for 880 USD per person.

Is this a reasonable price??

Roy demands a full payment in advance? Is it reliable to do so??

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,
Cagill

I've just come back from a great safaris with Vista SafarisWebsite for Vista Safaris. I got their recommendation from The Thorn Tree.

It was great to be taken care of by the two women running the company. Sometimes its good to rough it with a little luxury!Earlier Post

Hi Guys!

I have an opportunity to work as a development worker (volunteer) in Zanzibar -Unguja Town for 2 years. When I did some internet research, I could not find a town called Unguja, it is another name for Zanzibar. But perhaps its the capital?

The reason why I am sending out this message is to get an opinion from those who have visited Zanzibar (especially Unguja Town..if it exists) and tell me what it is like. I am the type of person who can not live in a small village, I need people…
