Climbed Kilimanjaro followed by a safari with a company called Tro-Peaks Adventures. This proved to be a decision that we didn’t regret for one single moment. From being picked up at the airport to being dropped off in the same place two weeks later everything went according to plan. The price paid for Tro-Peaks was a lot less than other providers but the service and professionalism was not compromised at all. Thomas, one of the owners made you feel very welcome and is a real gentleman.

Hello! We're a couple from Belgium and staying for a month (July 2015) in Tanzania. We want to do several safaris around 13 to 22 of july. Anyone interested in joining us to get the price down? Who is in Arusha around 13 - 14 july planning a safari? Greetings Frederik & Hélène
Hello All,
I will be traveling to Kenya in the beginning of this coming July, and I am wondering what information you folks have that can help me make the best decision for my upcoming trip. I would like to trek up either Mt. Kenya or Mt. Kili, as well as do a 1-2 night safari right after. I have about 2 weeks and $1300 max to spend on a trip all together. I wanted to know what the suggestions are, based on people who have been to either or both. For example one is more scenic, or one has more…
As the negotiations between Kenya and Tanzania failed, no Tanzanian car is allowed to enter the Nairobi Airport. So the government of Tanzania advised people, who like to visit Tanzania, not to use Kenyan airports anymore to avoid unnecessary inconvinience. No end in the near future.
Kenyan cars are allowed to use Tanzanian airports.

I see a plethora or sleeping locations for Stone Town but I'm having a hard time figuring out if there is a "hub" of hostels or guesthouses where travelers and backpackers tend to stay. I see that the Clove Hotel tends to be a bit popular, but at $60/night it's a tad expensive for my current tastes. Does anyone have recommendations for a pleasant hangout closer to the $30/$40 per night range?
Hey,
I have been in touch with a company called Swahili paradise about climbing Kilimanjaro. They have quoted me $1300 for everything and it all sounds good. I just wanted to check they are a legitimate company before I part with my cash! And has anyone used them before? Any good? Thanks,
Holli
Hello Tanzania travellers.
Just be careful please while you stay inTanzania.
We were stolen in a couchsurfing house in Iringa- Tanzania. Someone with the house´s keys took some of our money.
They don´t take everything "just" a few bills like this maybe you don´t notice!
And it seems that many other surfers and travellers also have this problem. Also on safaris, guesthouses and hotels... many couchsuring hosts work in safaris companies (what a coincidence!).
They know travellers carry many US$…
Hello,
I will be traveling to Tanzania alone in March, and I would like to hike Kilimanjaro. I have been doing some research online, but the prices seem to be steeper than I'd like to pay as a grad student.
If I were to show up at Kilimanjaro airport without booking with any agencies in advance, how feasible is it to just take public transport to Moshi and arrange the hike with local agencies upon arrival?
Thanks!
My wife and I will be visiting Tanzania and plan to do a 5 or 6 day safari in the south. Some safari packages I've looked at stay entirely in Selous, while others take in Selous, Mikumi, and Udzungwa.
Which option would you choose? We don't have any must-see animals, although we'd both like to see wild dogs if possible. We generally don't enjoy big crowds. Given the length of the drive from Selous to Mikumi, is there a good reason to see both? Or would we be just as well to stay in Selous the…
