My flight arrives at Kilimanjaro airport in the afternoon. However my work is in Arusha. What is the best and most reliable way of going there from the airport? The hotel I am booked at does not offer airport transfer.

Thank you:)

Hi all, I am hoping to relocate temporarily or long term in Zanzibar . I spent 2 months there recently and became familiar with cost of living expenses. Basically determeined I could get by with a frugal lifestyle.. By western standards that is , on around 1,000 usd per month. Although a little more would be nice.. I am a career florist also with various hotel opertaions experience.. I inquired about jobs while I was there but to no avail. Does anyone know of freelence or permanent floral…

Is there any way to access Rubondo Island from Eastern Rwanda?

I believe that Tanz Parks will pick you up from Mwanza, but it seems that there are no flights to there from Kigali (although Google search suggests there are).

I can only see flights to Mwanza from Dar, is this valid?

I will try to contact Tanz Parks to see about pickup/transport options from the Rwanda area, but last time they took so long to answer that I had literally already been in Tanzania for 1 month and left before I got…

Hallo thorn tree forum Members!
This is Anna and my boyfriend Brown, both from Copenhagen in Denmark. We are flying into Kilimanjaro airport on 24th May and would like to start the 5 days budget camping safari the following day on 25th May. We have quotes for private safari, very expensive, we must join others. We don't mind to join you or you to join us. We have been told that now its low season and not easy to get a group. If we don't get others to join, then we don't have any other option than…

Here's some info from my recent visit to Tanzania.
S and I spent 6 weeks (Feb/March 2015) travelling in a loop heading inland and south from Dar es Salaam, then across the bottom of the country and back up the coast. We didn't visit any of the big tourist attractions like Serengeti or Zanzibar, but had a thoroughly enjoyable time in the less visited places, small towns and lush green countryside

We travelled by public transport and wherever possible stayed in self-contained double rooms.
Prices…

Hello there

I will be in Tanzania and climbing Kilimanjaro on 1st July. I am doing the Machame 6 day route with a company called Oreta Adventures.

It would be great to have more people on the climb . Not only to keep costs down but also I think the more people the merrier !

If you are thinking of climbing Kilimanjaro 1 July then please do contact oreta. It'd be great to have you on board.

Thanks for reading and happy travels.

Hi guys,

We are a couple and we are going for 2 weeks to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar in July. We could find nice simple and clean lodges with reasonable rates in Stone Town and Nungwi (Manch Lodge and Jame's Guesthouse). Do you recommend any other place to visit in the island.
We would also love to visit Pemba. Do you know about a budget lodge/backpackers in Pemba? We have a budget of $25/$30 per double room.
Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm in a village about 70km south of Serengeti national park (on the Mwanza side), waiting my chance to see the wildebeest migration.
Does anyone know roughly when and where is best to see this? I'm traveling alone and would like to join any private groups using camp sites and going there for the migration.
If not, can anyone recommend a good safari operator? I'm traveling on a tight budget.
Huge thanks in advance!
Em.
