I've just started researching my trip, which requires me taking a flight from Dar to Mbeya, and/or return. Theoretically it should be possible with Fastjet or Precision. However, Precision's website says that the route is temporarily suspended, and putting dates (end of July) and the route into Fastjet's website yields no results. Even though a timetable is posted there.

Does anyone know of a reason why the route might have been suspended? Or why I'm not getting results?

Hi !!!

Me and boyfriend will leave for Tanzania in 10 days and are setting the last details of our safari on the Northern Circuit. There is something we are not sure about, that is to include Lake Natrón or not in our tour. It is not a matter of days as we have plenty of time but we don't know if we should concéntrate on Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti and skip Lake Natrón or if it is worth the effort to get there.

Please help us with this as it is the last loose end of our…

Hi,

My family is considering volunteering for two weeks via the Old Moshi Hostel http://oldmoshihostel.com. My daughters are 9 and 11. I have been in correspondence with the Old Moshi Hostel and it seems like a good fit, but I can't find any reviews on trip advisor or elsewhere.

Can anyone recommend Old Moshi Hostel?

Thanks,
Katharine

So I'm literally about to book a flight to Malaysia when Qatar Airways reminds me of Zanzibar and how much I want to visit. Cold feet? Perhaps, but better than wet feet...or not?

I pulled up the weather forecast for Zanzibar and, at first glance, it looks terrible with rain every day. When I actually click the day, the forecast says rain in the early morning, mostly sunny the rest of the day OR occasional light showers, sunny conditions. Talk about misleading.

Previous posts on the weather…

Hi everyone,
I'll be traveling to Tanzania this summer in order to volunteer for an NGO in Arusha.
I still can't decide which is the best way to get there. The options are to fly to Dar el salam and then travel by bus to Arusha, or fly to Kilimanjaro international airport (a bit more expensive) and then take a bus or a taxi to Arusha.
I'll be traveling on my own and I would really appreciate your tips.
Also, I heard that it's not safe to leave luggage in the container under the bus, but I was…

I have signed up to do the 8-day Lemosho trek with Popote Africa Adventures. I am looking for maybe 1-3 more persons who might be interested in joining up in the end of September. I will depart on September 26th.

If you're interested, please let me know and I'll send you the contact information.

Regards,
Daniel

We will be staying a night in Arusha at the end of our safari and don't fly out till about 3.30pm. Any ideas on what we can do to fill in the day? Are there any cultural sights to see, or any local parks where there might be birds to watch etc?

I'll be travelling to Zanzibar early September, and want to spend a few days at a beach with easy access to Mnemba Atoll. I also want to be able to swim / snorkel from the beach if possible. I was thinking Matemwe, But can you also get to Mnemba easily from Jambiani, and is that a better beach?
Also, can you do a spice tour from Matemwe or do you end up being taken most of the way back to Stone Town to do it?

Olasati Lodge wants to charge me $100 for transport from JRO to Arusha.

Isn't this a bit high? I don't know of any alternative.

Thanks in advance!
