Hi - I'm new to Thorn Tree & I'm spending 3 weeks in Tanzania/Zanzibar/Pemba for honeymoon.

Can someone please tell me is it worth or necessary to book flights from Zanzibar to Penba beforehand? I get the impression that it isn't necessary, but if it is, what is the best method of doing this?

Many thanks
Tim

If you are not set on a particular day it's not necessary. If you plan to visit the places in the order you mentioned in your post, you should start making arrangements when you get to Zanzibar. Tropical Air, Coastal and ZanAir all fly to Pemba at least once a day normally, so you shouldn't have any problems. ZanAir and Tropical both have an office in Stonetown, Coastal has one at the airport and an agency at Mtoni Marine resort just out of town.

usually your travel agency helps you out with the flights... especially if you're getting a safari+beach type package. we booked through a tanzanian company, predators safari, and got really good prices comapred to booking everything individually. less hassle as well!

We are not planning to go on safari - we are going Diving and are sorting out the arrangements ourselves so we have a totally free hand, but thanks for the advice.
