Hi! A (female) friend of mine and myself are planning a trip somewhere in the beginning of september. We've found some interesting deals to fly to either Ghana, Brazil, Hong Kong, Tanzania or the Philippines. We can't seem te decide which one to pick. Has anyone of had good (or bad) experiences in any of these places? Or any recommendations? All tips are welcome!

the best would be the Philippines.
over the last year the cost of air tickets to the Philippines have been going down as more airlines are flying to the Philippines.
also costs when you get to the Philippines are less than Ghana, Brazil Hong kong or Tanzania.
I have been to all 5 places. 2nd best is Brazil then 3rd Ghana.
Tanzania is a bit of a rip off as has very high fees to go to the game parks. and the fees just went up.
the best place to go in east Africa is Uganda.
to go to Ghana you need to get a $80 visa which takes time.
Philippines no visa for up to 30 days.
London to the Philippines takes about 18 hours but cost the Same as London to Ghana which only takes 7 hours.

Philippines it will be! Thank you so much for the kind reply!

For me i could say Tanzania is the best of those destinations you mentioned as you can see Philippines has a risk of tai fun cyclone , Ghana risk or Ebola or other dangerous disease , Brazil too much Crimes and robbing . So for me i recommend to go to Tanzania as i am female too , and i was there as solo female and i didn't have any problem in my journey till i came back home , and everything was safety . If you will need more details about where to visit what to do in Tanzania let me know .

What i know about the East African countries, most of them are beautiful to visit and its true that to visit Tanzania is expensive especially on entering in the National parks but can be less expensive when you from two people because of the cost sharing .You can ask why it is very expensive because Tanzania has the most famous places for tourism in Africa like MOUNT KILIMANJARO,SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK, NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA etc.I think if you want to visit Tanzania you can be in groups or from two this can be less expensive
Day to day life in Tanzania isn't expensive - rooms, transport, food and beer are all cheap. The expensive things are the safaris and mountain climbing, but there's plenty of other, much cheaper, stuff to amuse you.
I liked Tanzania much more than Ghana, although the weather was unpleasantly hot and humid when I visited, which probably affects my opinion....and I haven't been to your other options. But Tanzania is friendly, scenic and easy to get around and would be a good choice. (I was there for 6 weeks earlier this year).
Note there is NO ebola in Ghana.

Jambo - I think you meant to say a "typhoon"(tropical storm) - however in September these are unlikely, but do occur.

I have been to Tanzania 5 times over the past 10 years (last there in 2012) and whilst I love the place you need to decide: WHY you want to go to country X; WHAT you want to do when you are there; HOW long to visit, how do you wish to travel - private car; hire car; local transport. Your daily budget is also a major consideration. A Tanzanian visa on arrival will cost $50 US for each of you and if you intend to visit Zanzibar Island you will need to provide proof of Yellow Fever vaccination. Other health issues - common to both Philippines and TZ are anti-malarial products. Malaria can kill so you need to be prepared. Hope you have a great trip no matter where you decide to go. Cheers

The Philippines 7107 islands. Philippines visa Free for 30 days. cost of places to stay 50% less than
Tanzania.
the cost of a dorm bed in a Backpackers hostel in in Arusha $22 a night.
a Backpacker hostel in Boracay or Bohol island cost from $10 a night.
Tanzania has some of the most high prices for game parks any where in Africa.
the 2 hour ferry fare from Dar to Zanzibar one way (tourist price) in us dollars $35.
Cebu to Bohol island 2 hours on a fast ferry only $10 dollars.
then when you get to Zanzibar what price do you pay for a room (tourist price) ?
in the Philippines every one pays the same.
