Hi, i have a quiestion abouth weather in Tanzania.
I understand that from November to January is a short rain seasion in nother Tansania. I would like to know more about weather on southern part of Tansania from December to February. If i'm right there is at that time rain seasion which lasts from November to April (something like this). My question is how strong is that rain, does it rain every day, how is with roads at that time?
I'm mostly interested about areas from Dar El Salaam to Lindi, around Mbeya, Iringa, parts south of Dodoma, Tabora and around Kigoma.

I was in Iringa in a drought year, and it didn't rain every day, so the crops failed. However, this year, friends have said there was too much rain so the crops failed again. It rained in the afternoons in a steady downpour - sheets of water! (Beautiful to watch and listen to on a tin roof, but not so much fun to be caught out in). Other days were just wet, gray, drizzly days. Most of the main roads are sealed, so are better to travel on than the lesser roads, but can get very pot-holey in the rainy season. If you venture off the main roads, you may encounter sections of road that have been washed away, or just churned to mud because of the traffic. Iringa was still beautiful in the rainy season, though! Hope that helps.

I was in Iringa Jan - Dec. It was rainy from January to about April (I think!), when the 'windy season' came, then there was almost no rain again until mid-way through November. During the rainy season while I was there it didn't rain every day, but that could have been partly because the country was in the middle of a severe drought. Iringa is pretty high in the hills, so I assume it would have a very localised weather pattern - I'm not sure that this is the same for the whole of southern Tanzania.
