I will be heading towards the Serengeti from the west so will aim to do a Mwanza to Arusha route - can anyone recommend a tour agency in Mwanza?
From reading I believe the tours have to be paid in US Dollars - is cash expected or can you pay by credit card?

To my understanding i think many tour operators are residing in Northern part of Tanzania,i.e Moshi and Arusha.
I don't know alot because i was there like two months ago. But they can take you anywhere.
For me i used one small company called Enosa Expeditions. Try to communicate with them may be they will help you.
They are very nice guys.

Its not common to get a group to share or operator from Mwanza , but most of operator works between Arusha and mwanza , so you get one even from Arusha town .
I am going to Serengeti as a single traveller in January and am using Swahili Paradise which was recommended to me on thorn tree by another solo traveller. They specialize in taking single travelers and grouping them together. They are very flexible and the most economical I found. Disclaimer, I have not gone on the safari yet.
