We are three people currently in Uganda, coming to Arusha on Monday 9th July and hoping to do a tour in Serengeti and Ngorongoro from 10th for four or five days? We would like to have something at least tentatively organised before we arrive - we don't have the time to hang about for a few days. We would be happy to hook up with others to increase numbers and lower costs. We have already contacted a few firms in Arusha - Gametrackers, Safarimakers (I see that someone posted a question about them further down but no answer yet) and Sunny Safaris. Anyone been with any of them? Any input? Sorry if any of this information is elsewhere on the branch but the access is so slow here I've not had the time to do an extensive trawl.

Thanks

sticky49,
as you decided to hook up with several firms in Arusha, I think it will be better if you can ask them to find some one who can join with you. They have an ability to do that, but you have to stick with only one firm.

I haven't taken a Safari with anyone, but I've heard nothing but good things about Sunny Safaris. The first two I've never heard of.

I used Sunny Safari for a 7-day camping safari last Sept. They were cheaper than the other 2 companies I investigated. I was very pleased with Sunny, but a lot of that had to do with the driver we had. He was outstanding. I was traveling alone and had no problem with being paired with other individuals with Sunny, though I had the spare day to wait in Arusha.

Though Sunny will take up to 6 in the sandard Landrover vehicle, I'd keep your group to 4 or less. With 4 in our landrover, we could all stand and look through the roof without crowding out each other.

I talked to others who used Good Earth, and were positive about them.

Just came back from safari and used Safarimakers - they were very good. Take the camping option which is much cheaper and fun! And I agree that you wouldn't want more than 4 people otherwise someone has to sit in the middle.
