Anyone stay at flame tree cottages at nungwi?

My parents stayed there for a week 2.5 years ago when they came to visit me in Zanzibar. It's quite a nice set-up with bungalows with a small kitchenette that you can use or not (breakfast is served to you on your private verandah). I think it's nice for couples or families who prefer a bit of privacy, but it's not a very sociable place, as in no communal bar or anthing.

We've just spent three nights (me and my wife, 30) at the Flam Tree, in Nungwi and we really appreciated the place.

We think it's one of the best place to stay in Nungwi, if not the best (we visited many other places to compare) in this category.

There are a few bungalows standing in a nice and spacious garden. Rooms are big, well furnished, clean and confortable. You get your breakfast on your terrasse, served by some gentle people. Very nice...

It's not expensive for Nungwi (about 100-120 $ per night including bkfst), where most hotels or bungalows are relatively expensive, and concentred.

The place is vert quiet, maybe too much, but you are very close to Nungwy touristic center (3 minutes) so that you can easily reach many restaurants and bars (cholo's bar and the restaurant next to it are very nice and lively).

The only negative points on Flam Tree are:
- The beach is not the best in Nungwi, but is still OK.
- The restaurant is correct, but could be better.

In comparison:
- Amaan's for the same price offers concentred and small bungalows that are far less charming
- Langi Langi is rather nice, but also concentred and a little more expensive.
- Z hotel is not worth at all, given the very high prices.

Just a word about Nungwi's diving clubs:
- Watersports: Nice club, serious. Attractive prices. Fine diving school
- East Afrivan: Good club also
- Sensation divers: Cheap, but don't even try. Very very poor. I had a bad experience with them. They don't even know how to find the spots...
- Spanish divers: Bad reputation.

Regarding the diveshops - I guess you mean Spanish Dancer?

Oops, just noticed that this is an old post which I had already replied to last year, so I deleated my double comment on Flame Tree.
