We're heading over to Africa from mid April to mid August next year travelling from Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa or vice versa. Looking at weather charts if we start north that will put us in Tanzania (where we plan to go on safari) during the long rains, which means harder to spot wildlife, wet weather but fewer crowds. This is our first trip to Africa and wildlife is a primary reason we are going. We also have an atrocious record when it comes to weather and wildlife spotting on previous trips so want to give ourselves the best chance possible.

Which direction would you suggest?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello friends!

I have seen your post on this board and i had some few suggestions and questions on which might be the best.
First you better figure your programs and know how long will it going to take moving throught all those countries.
As you are expecting to spot wildlife in Tanzania, then its better atleast to figure your days till mid june where it will be a nice days to spot wildlife in the National parks as there will be no rain. The rain season will be off somewhere at late may or sometimes mid june.

Im suggesting whether you starts from south to the north so that you have great time with wild amimals on the north side.
Thanks, thats all i could contribute for your questions.
Regards,
Msangi
