hey everyone,
I'm thinking of heading to zanzibar for new years with some friends but I wanted to check what the party situation there is. We're thinking of staying on kendwa beach in the north and I've heard that they have full moon parties. Do they also do something for new years? If anyone's been before and can give me feedback, that would be great.

I just left Zanzibar a few weeks ago. Kendwa is pretty cool but aside from the night of the full moon parties its pretty quiet. If you want something more lively check out Nungui just down the beach. I was there for over a week and never went to bed sober. Its also close enough that you can walk to Kendwa for any parties they are having there (you could also hire a boat to bring you if your feeling lazy).
