Hi,

I am travelling to Moshi in July 2015, and am exploring the possibility of overlanding from Moshi to Mombasa. Is there a direct bus that connects the two, and, if so, what time does it leave, what is the price, and how easy is it to get a ticket? If not, how easy is it to bus-hop between the towns on the road connecting them? Also, does anyone have any idea how long the journey should take? Thanks for any assistance.

Many thanks!

It's easily doable in a day - well I did it in a day in 1984 but things should only have changed for the better surely? We did it by flagging down a pickup to the border, walked through the sisal plantation that is no mans land, taxi to Taveta where we had a bit of a wait, bus to Voi and tro-tro down to Mombasa.

There is a regular bus service from Arusha via Moshi and Tanga to Mombasa. Ask at the busstand for the time.

Modern Coast bus and the Dar Express bus ( should stop there ). If you don't mind discomfort then you can get the Tahmeed bus
