The whole of Tanzania is a malaria risk area -

Malaria in Africa is not a joke.
It's up to you but you know the situation...

About the only part of TZ not a malaria risk is Mt Kili or Mt Meru when above 2000/2500 metres. I agree with mvbergen Malaria is Not a Joke - it can and does kill those who ignore the risks

Here is information in Danish, from a travel clinic in Denmark. It also includes information on recommended immunizations. Vaccination Tanzania

If you will transit through another African country on the way to Tanzania, you should be aware that Tanzania requires a certificate of yellow fever vaccination of anyone traveling from a country with risk of YFV transmission who is older than 1 year of age, including transit of more than 12 hours in an airport located in a country with risk of YFV transmission. Here is the list of countries with YF. It includes Kenya.

Zanzibar has its own rules and it's unpredictable. You may or may not be asked for a certificate if you go there.

Immunization is not recommended for your own protection in Tanzania.

April is during the rain season...there will be more mosquitoes than at other times of the year. Best to be safe.
