hello all,
i've got what may be a silly question regarding safari accomodation. my parents have just agreed to come with me to tanzania for part of my trip, so i am now looking into more higher end accomodation/safari than if it was just me.
i've found this lodge in the serengeti: mbalageti serengeti that looks lovely. my question is this: in my research so far on safari companies (roy, sunny, oliver, sky way, etc.....) i've yet to come across a company who uses this lodge. not that i'm definately stuck on this particular lodge - i just wonder if you're able to book with a company you like the sounds of, but "request" a certain lodge at which to stay. does that make sense?
i ask partially because a bunch of companies in the $200/day range seem to use the serena/sopa lodges, which in as far as i've read, are too disneyland-ish sounding (if that's the right word) so i'm looking into alternatives.

What he is trying to say (besides promoting his company) is, yes you can request that your safari company takes you to any particular camp. That is normal.
As a lodge owner i have found that yes, we get approached by safari companies with whom we haven't previously dealt because a client has asked them to book with us. so just ask, you will get some that won't as they want more commission from the lodge in which case change your company!
as to number one, giving advice is fine and having your website in your sig line might get you business and is acceptable, however it is against the rules of this board to solicit business in the manner you have been doing for some time, it's also boring and distracts people from genuine advice and experience.

the serebgeti mbalageti lodge is stunning, though. i was there for 3 nights. you stay in isolated groups of cabins and cannot move after sunset without the company of an armed masai warrior. there are no fences of any type, and you hear lions and hyenas all night long. it's a very atmospheric place and the food is phenomenal. the view of the serengeti plains from the dining room / pool is one of the most beautiful in tanzania.
