Okay, so we have an aggressive itinerary planned for January, and I have a couple questions...

Day 1: Fly into Nairobi
Day 2: Transfer to Arusha
Day 3-7: Kilimanjaro
Day 8: Finish Kili, Straight to the airport to fly to Zanzibar. We land at 6:40 PM, and will probably rent a car. Spend the night in Stone Town/at a Beach?
Day 9: Beach?
Day 10: 10am flight to Nairobi

So, the questions... We definitely want to stay at least one night on a beach - preferably somewhere naturally beautiful and not overly developed.

Should we spend the first night in Stone Town, or go straight to the beach?
What is the best beach to go to?
Is there anything else I should know that I'm not asking?

Thanks in advance!
B

Hey , B

Its better if you will spend both nights at the beach and visit stone town in a day as day trip only . The nicer beach in Nungwi northern part of the island and the afforadable hotels are Amani Bungalows and Flame Tree Cottages which are on the beach .

kateduc,

thanks for the reply! One more question... Is it cheaper to buy plane tickets through a local agency, or just buy the regular tickets online? I'm seeing $371 on kayak.com to go JRO -> ZNZ and ZNZ -> NBO, and there doesn't seem to be much of a price difference on different dates (it's $2 more if i book it for the day after tomorrow than it would be in January).

Thanks,
Brandon

Yes its cheaper to buy it through local agency has they have big chance to discount the fare rather than the outbound one !. I can recommend one if you will perfer that

Awesome. I shot you a PM. Also, I have a couple more questions about where to stay in Zanzibar. I have done some research and I like the Idea of staying in Nungwi or Kendwa. Are there any actual bungalows on the beach? I checked your recommendation on Flame Tree. Looks nice! Do you know if the beach is available at high tide? We'd definitely like to stay away from the hotel style accommodations and would like to be able to use the beach anytime.

Thanks again for all the responses!

Most of the part of Northern side especially Nungwi the beach is available everything even at hides , the water's level is flat and clean . And that Flame tree its just 5 metre from the sea shore of the beach , and during a night there is a nicer restaurant for sundown drink which called ''Mama Mia Restaurant ''
