Hi,
I know this place is a must to see. But those spice farm are the local farm so sometime is not easy to find a lot of information through the website. Could you help me ?
How looks like a tour of the farm: tourists walk or ride by car? how long are the paths ? how many km?
Does anyone have a map of the plantation ? The tour is start from Kidichi Farm then through Tangawizi Farm and finish at where you start - is it true ?
What are the opening hours ?
Where can I order individual tour?

Thanks for help
Magda

The spice farms most are owned by private people, and the farm are not bigger like you though. So people use to walking with their guide and explore, test and learn different varieties of spice in the farm. The farm i visited was Big body Spice Farm and i had a lunch inside the spice farm , and this lunch was prepared with fresh spices from this farm. So you will also test the Zanzibar fruits and see other activities. Almost you can spend 3 hrs inside the farm. You can order this trip individually, for me i used Zanzibar Dhow Safaris ( zanzibardhowreservation@gmail.com ). Wish you best of luck on your trip there !.

The main plantation is the government plantation in Kizimbani, which is quite a lot bigger than the privately owned ones. You can actually spend a good two hours walking around it, depending on your guide and the others in your group.
A standard group spice tour can be booked through your accomodation in Stonetown, I'm sure they can arrange private ones as well. It is also possible, if you have your own transport, to turn up at the gate, where you will pay and be assigned a guide to take you round in the plantation.
