We are staying at the Kendwa Rocks on Zanzibar. We are looking to do some SCUBA while there. Anyone have some stories, comments, suggestions about the area or any of our activities?

Hi, Kendwa is paradise, you'll have the most amazing time ever. Scuba doo is next to kendwa rocks I havn't dived with them but they seemed fine. You can get a free boat taxi to Nungwi where there is another dive centre which is very good we went to mnemba attol but its a bit of a boat ride to get there. The snorling from the shore at kendwa is excellent, make the effort to get up early & go snorkling you see a lot more life in the morning. Kendwa & Nungwi Bikini's/ shorts are fine but you need to cover up in stone town & be aware of belongings. Enjoy

Scuba Do is probably the best dive shop in Zanzibar, definetely dive with them if you're in Kendwa.
To add to the above, imo opinion bikini is only fine for lying on the beach, on the dive boat, while swimming etc. In the restaurants or if you go for a wander etc. I personally would always put some clothes on (shorts and T-shirt will do).

You are very lucky to be staying there!! we stayed next door (Kendwa Amaan and White sands). Now we're too late in booking and we're still looking for a hotel!! that notwithstanding, we're still going to Kendwa for xmas, coz we loved it so!!!
Dress code, as long as youa r eon the beach, you are okay with any swim wear. cover up while in the restaurants, shed them agian on teh dance floor ;-)
I never dived but everybody spoke highly of Scuba doo.
