Hello. I will visit Tanzania on the January. I would like to book a helicopter scenic flight to Mount Kilimanjaro, but I read that the best time for this flight is before 7:00 am or after 4 pm. I will arrive about 9 am. Do you recommend the flight after 9 am?

What is the chance of good visibility and cleaner sky? I would like to have a nice, clean views. Please respond if someone used this attraction at this time.
Thank you!

Where did you discover that there in fact "scenic helicopter flights around Mt Kili"? Having trekked the mountain a number of times I did ask about helicopter medical evacuation if it really became necessary. The replies were not really encouraging - no helicopters based permanently in Moshi; one or two based in Arusha but usually booked up doing photo-docos in Ngorongoro or the Serengeti. The closest medical evacuation chopper was in Nairobi and even it had height limitations - under 3600/4000 metres if lightly loaded (the highest camps at are 4680/4770 metres) and the summit is 5895. Timing is a difficult task. I lived in Moshi for varying periods in Oct/Nov and July and had varying success in seeing the top. I have read about scenic flights in fixed wing aircraft (of which there are a number based at Moshi airport) but again these are usually height limited, under 3600 metres (or 10,000 ft amsl). Good luck!!
