Hi,
I am planning to climb Kilimanjaro in Jan 2017. I have been in contact with a few companies and am thinking about booking from the States. However, when I did Machu Picchu I was on a big trip and just arrived and booked it. I ended up paying a lot less than all of the people who had booked ahead. My question is since I'm only one person and I have a couple days flexibility on start date, do you think I could just book when I arrive in Arusha on Jan 9? I want to go with a safe company that treats its employees well but I'm not sure I want to pay the middle men fees.

Hello Kate,

In that case it's better to join the group and hook up with others, so there is a mainstream at Arusha town where solos travellers join with others for different trip around the place, my advice is just check with group organisers there or try to follow the swap group if the have space for you, its easy just you give the dates you wish to travel and sign up you into the specific group which match your dates. Hi All,
I'm also thinking of the climb in early Feb on a full moon night.......I'm willing to join a group and I'm already in touch with a guide who arranged the climb for one of my friend in August this year and she recommends it.
It will be great if any of you joins and we can share the costs......

Hi Kate & (Another Kate),
I'm doing it from 5th Feb, 2017. I have spoken with an company which my friend did in August this year and the price seems reasonable with the possibility of getting a lower price if we have a group.
Let me know if you guys are flexible with your dates.
