Hi, I'm in Tanzania and looking to find anyone that might be interested in a Camping/budget Safari.

I'm researching a few companies, but if anyone knows of a good firm they used and the name of the driver that would be well appreciated.

Thank you!

Al

Hi Al. How are/ did you get on with your Safari? I'm looking to do the same thing - join a group for a reasonably priced trip.

I'm beginning to think the best thing for me to do is travel to Arusha, stay in a hostel for a night and try to find a tour group that is looking to fill the last space. This tactic seemed to work well when I've traveled elsewhere but this is my first African adventure . Do you have any tips/ advice?

Do you know of a hostel in that area that is popular with backpacker's? (One with a bit of social life to meet some cool folks to safari with ;)

Open to responses from anybody!

Olie

Hi Oli,
Hope this message finds you in time, if not, I appologies, but I have not been able to get online.

Yes, that's a good plan. I stayed at the following: Keytundu which is across the street from Mount Meru Tracking, which I did tracking with and I heard they are good for safari, but you have others listed above as well. Also Ujamaa hotel is great, but not as close to center of now.
Tips for Safari, take your time and shop around. Even good companies sometimes put you with another company. Be careful of any company that suggest a walking safari.
