Hey there people, we're planning to head towards Namibia starting in (and coming back to) Cape Town relatively soon. The whole thing lasting about 3 weeks.

I've been to SA already and rented compact cars in Hoedspruit and Joburg for a few days with relatively positive experiences save for that one guy who wanted a bribe when we returned, judging there was a new scratch next to a whole lot of old scratches on the car, which was total bullshizzle.

Anyway, in this case, considering the distance…

Tour groups in SA

Hey!

I am a 28 year old solo female traveler looking for some good tour group options in SA.

I am really interested in the Cape to Addo trip from Cape-Xtreme Adventures. The rest of my time I will be just booking day trips from Cape Town with Cape-Xtreme Adventures or Bok Bus. Has anyone heard of this tour group? Reviews are extremely minimal online. Any other tour groups I should be looking into?

Basically, any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)
Christina

VISA Question for SA!

My wife and I are travelling to SA for 3 months, I on a ZA passport she is on a British Passport.

Based on the dates of our ticket
We arrive in SA: 22 January 17:10pm
We leave SA: 22 April 8:35am

QUESTION:
Does my wife need a 'more than 3 months' Visa? http://southafricahouseuk.com/visas/vis_visit3mnths.html
Im not sure if SA immigration will count the above period as 90 days or 91 days? It is only 90 NIGHTS, but parts of 91 days!

We will also be travelling to Botswana…

Hello,

I'm going to Cape Town for my first time. My plan is to spend a few nights in Stellenbosch and a few nights in Hout Bay. How does one get around the winelands without a car? I'm gathering that many tourists simply rent a car, but I'm hesitant because I've never driven abroad. I generally just use public transportation when traveling. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I wondered if anyone knew of any bus companies doing the journey?

I could also take a minibus taxi to Bloem however I'm a bit cautious incase it takes a…

I will go from Ladysmith to Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp in Kruger National Park. I will go to Ermelo and then I see that I have two choices, the first is through Chrissiesmeer, Badplaas, Barberton and the other one through Nelspruit. What is the best road, the more scenic, with the best sightseeing? I would like to do two overnight stops along the way. Which are the best places to stop?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I would like to go from Clarens to Royal Natal NP to Bergville (or Ladysmith). Looking at google map I can see the road from Clarens to the Sentinel car park but from the park to Bergville it seems that I have to go back to Phuthaditjhaba and then along route 74. Is there an alternative shorter route? Maybe crossing the park?
Thanks in advance for any help

We are planning to spend three months in southern Africa, arriving in South Africa. Do we need to show proof of onward travel or a return ticket upon arrival? I have received conflicting information. We would like to keep our plans as flexible as possible. Thanks.

I will be in Cape Town for two weeks at the end of October before heading to Zambia and Tanzania. I am currently taking Lariam as malaria prof. but I need to change it due to serious side effects. I am thinking to go for Malarone as it worked ok before.

I am currently in middle east (Iran, Dubai)and I dont have any possibility to go back home and buy it there (Sweden). What would be the simplest way to get Malarone (Malanil)? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
