Dear All,

I'm planing a road trip through South Africa from middle of January 2016 until February 2016 (around 25 days).
Depending on flight schedule and prices, I will start from Captown or Johannesburg.
My questions:
1) Do you know, if it's possible to book the accomodation in Kruger Park by internet a few days (2-3) before you go or it's needed to book everything well in adavance?
2) Would it be possible to join/organize a tour (by jeep or walking) on short notice, when you arrived in the camp in Kruger park?

If this would be possible on short notice, it would provide a bit more flexibility depending on the weather etc.

Thanks and BR's
Jan

Hi Jan,

You can book a walk or a night drive when you arrive in camp. It should be okay to book accommodation a few days ahead, especially since you are traveling in low season.

I wouldn't book a couple of days in advance in Kruger unless you're really flexible on where to stay and how you stay. The most popular camps are often full months in advance, and all bungalows etc are full.

When it comes to morning/night drives or walks you should be fine booking when you get there.

Dear All,

I just booked my accomodation for the Kruger NP.
Even if it's end of September, the most wanted accomodations at the most beloved places are already almost booked out.

Thank you all for your replies.
