Hi Guys,
I'm planning a trip in South Africa and in particular in the Cape town's area, from the mid to the end of June. How's about the weather? Have someone experienced a trip at this season? I would like to do also a bit of "beach life"...
Many Thx
Bye bye
Anna

Hi Anna,
we live in South Africa (not in Cape Town though), and know a bit about the Cape Town winter. It can be pretty chilly, rainy and windy right now. Minimum temperatures around 11c and maximum around 15-16c. So don't expect a lot of beach life if you're going this month! The sea is probably also too cold for swimming right now.
If you really want some beach life it might be wiser to go to the Durban area, which has a day temp of around 25c right now and the ocean is much warmer there.
Hope this helps! Enjoy your holiday anyhow, it's a magnificent country!

Hi!
I'd agree completely with sapster. Cape Town is lovely - lots to see and do, probably my favourite bit of South Africa, but at this time of year it feels VERY cold compared with other areas. The further round the coast (Indian Ocean side) you go the more attractive the beach and sea will appear!
Have a great time!

Hi, the weather in Cape Town at this time is variable. (I live there) At the moment it feels as though it hasn't stopped raining all week, but the weekend before last was gorgeous and we were on the beach (yes, tanning, in swimming costumes!). You may be lucky you may not be, but there are better places at this time of year, like Durban. Or you could head further north up the west coast where it wont be quite so wet.
Not wanting to put a spanner in the works, but Namibia is perfect at this time of year...

I live in Cape Town and boy oh boy, even as a Canadian, you couldn't get to go to the beach right now!!!!! Buurrrrrr!!!!
Currently, it hasn't been above 20 degrees in over a week and the sun is a rare thing. But theres plenty to do here otherwise! If you want to go to the beach, try up the coast, either way - West coast or to the eastern cape/kzn.
