Hi,
I have booked an overland tour that will be passing Lesotho (staying ther for for approx 1 day). In the booklet from the organizer there was information that I, as a Swedish citizen, did not need a visa for Lesotho. When I tried to reconfirm that with the Lesotho embassy, they said that a visa is required. Unfortunately, they do not have an embassy here in Sweden. I called their embassy in Johannesburg and they promised to send me documents by fax in return if I faxed my fax number to them. I did that, but have not received anything. I will leave Sweden within a few days to fly down to Cape Town and start the overland tour a couple of days later.
Does anyone of you passed the border to Lesotho on an overland tour and know if they are tough on the visa requirements? Is it possible to get a visa at the border if they ask for it? Any other recommendations what to do?

Hi Pierre,
I'm pretty sure that they will issue you with the visa at the border post or rather just give you the 30 day stamp. Normally citizens of the following countries will get a 30 stamp in their passport and a visa is not required: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Ireland, United Kingdom. Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland. The Netherlands. Canada, Israel and Japan.
Good luck,
J
