Hi All!
Ever wonder what electronics are perfect to travel with? Phone? Camera? Laptop?
Here's an infographic I just found that gives some helpful tips on what to travel with:

I would say it depends entirely on the person..there is no 'best' or 'worst'...just what you need, and how much weight you are prepared to carry when you travel.

For example i never bring a phone (smart or otherwise)....I never travel without a decent camera though.Taking good photos is a lot more important to me than calling people on the phone,or being told where to go and what to do.....

If you've travelled to Africa (judging by your two posts, this is just advertising) then you'd know in some parts electricity isn't stable so gadgets just become an extra weight to carry around!

What a waste of a post!

Ah, gadgets. After many years of travels, I've got the most use from a small shortwave radio. I can listen to music and the BBC world service news keeps me up to date with potential wars and other hot spots.
That's all I take with me now; even a camera has become too much bother to keep safe and dust free.
Lets face it, friends and family don't really wants to see your photos, watch how their eyes glaze over after about half a dozen....

I find it quite depressing when the communal places at guesthouses are filled with silent tourists all staring intently at a screen rather than talking to each other or even looking at their surroundings. Leave the electronics at home, you really don't need them. You might even find it liberating!

My photos are for me,not for friends and family ;-)

Though of course if they ask,i show them a few..not hundreds or thousands though.

I want something to remember the places i've been to,and photos are the best thing for me...looking through those from 20-25 years ago brings back really clear memories of things I would have otherwise completely forgotten about.....

Silly post, indeed. To each his/her own is the way to go.

For my part, I find one tablet much lighter than multiple books, and it has the added advantage of being able to store my photos until I get home. I get around dust/shock/other camera calamities by using a relatively cheap camera. And I take a phone, as I have consideration for loved ones who think I'm liable to kick the bucket on any given day.

The phone is also usable as a flashlight/torch, so I no longer take one of those on most trips.

Travel pics, many from Africa and Middle East/Central Asia.
The newest are from Algeria, South Korea and Taiwan.
