am going to south africa next week have some diving booked at aliwa shoals and protea banks
I really want to go surfing how far away are the nearest breaks? for a begginer
if possibale i'd like to go scuba 1 day then surf the next or scuba in the morning and surfing in the afternoon

Hi. I'm not a surfer, but there's surfing to be had at every beach on the South Coast, so I'd say it won't be far at all. The beaches there have shark nets, so surfing is big. Perhaps ask at backpacker' etc for specific info.

I heard that most of the diving is in the morning when the waters cammer thus was think diving protea hopefully see some big sharks drive done to coffee bay or maybe closer surf afternoon then drive back up do that for a week or so would that be possible?
also how safe is the wild coast? driving myself is it touristy thus not that bad or do'nt go out at night etc,.??
