Heyyy,
I'm in Cape Town for the first week in October for work. I will have one (maybe 2) free days and I'm keen to get amongst it in a game park. I hear Aquila is nearby and another one Invernoord? Anyone been to these? Also any recommendations for a reputable compny to go with? Any hints appreciated!

I've never heard of Invernoord, sorry.

Aquila organises their own day trips from Cape Town. You can stay also stay overnight, or longer obviously!

Aquila is the closest to Cape Town, but it's small. Someone on a previous post described it as 'a little zoo-ish, with the lions separated off from the other animals'

You can find some background details of other reserves near Cape Town - size and so on - here..

Real safari in a decent size reserve is hard to find very close to CT. It all depends what you want out of the experience.

#1 Alison, there have been a couple of us who have described Aquila as 'ZOOISH' but as i've stated in previous posts, the food (Breakfast and Lunch), the knowledge of the guides and the fact they sell Windhoek are all big plusses !

OP, If you accept that this will not be like a safari through Kruger, Hluhluwe oe Etosha ? Then yes do it ! But if this ancient memory serves me well (doubtful) we paid R550 each for a half day safari 3 years ago (food as above included)

Drink Windhoek not Castle

Ok thanks a lot. I have been to game parks in Kenya and Botswana and I realise it wont be like that. But Aquila sounds like it would be nice and my best option. Just seeing a giraffe is a beautiful thing. Thanks again
