Night Life in Cape Town

Nightlife is all over. Long street ect... Don't have to restrict yourself to that area though. Salsa - that depends. I know some places have live bands that play that type of music but they move around.

Oh, Catina Tequila or Cubana might be a good bet. Although Cubana, not many dance.

Long street is very touristy, the best area to go out is Observatory, the student quarter. But good places there change every time so maybe ask one of the backpackers there where to go or start at Obz Cafe and follow the crowds. It's not as safe as Long street, though, do not walk in side streets on your own and better take a taxi.
On 81 Main Road, Green Point, there's also the Buena Vista Social Cafe / restaurant, might be worth to check out what's going on there. A few hundred metres further west on Main is the gay nightlife area, there are lots of good places, straight people are welcome.
