Hi
We are planning a trip to SA next year. I know Kruger is one of the best NP because of big five, scenery and sleeping facilities for all budgets. But everybody goes to Kruger and we will also. What are other affordable national parks with beautiful scenery and good possibilities to see all sorts of game? I know there a quite some NP's for high end budgets but I can't spend R5800 (€ 330) per person per day or more.
So I am looking for nice places to stay in natural surroundings and above all affordable.

We will also visit Swaziland, if you have good places to stay there, also welcome!
Also general info about Swaziland is welcome: what to do ...

Thanks for the tips!

Will

Krüger NP is indeed a must, and as it is so big and varied, you could easily spend 10 days there and still discover new things every day. I also like Addo NP, its totally different in terms of landscape and vegetation to Krüger. Its especially good for big herds of elefants, but there is plenty of other wildlife as well. Hluhluwe is another great park for wildlife and you could easily combine a visit there with the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, which is great for birds, hippos and crocodiles.

Hi Nathalie
Thanks for your tips but do you also have tips about affordable accommodation in these parks?

Your welcome Will.

In Addo and Hluhluwe, you can compare the accommodation to Krüger NP - there are affordable official restcamps.

For iSimangaliso, you can either stay outside of the park in St. Lucia, or in a self-catering place within the park http://isimangaliso.com/tourism-information/accommodation/self-catering/
