These are out of your stated price range, but are great places:

1. Zorgvliet - Banhoek Vineyard Lodge - fantastic boutique hotel (spent a couple of nights there on honeymoon!) (http://www.zorgvliet.co.za/accommodationbanhoek.htm)<BR>2. Franschoek Country House - bigger place but slightly cheaper, and very nice (www.fch.co.za)<BR><BR>My advice would be to stay out of the Stellenbosch area - the Banhoek Valley between Stellenbosch & Franschoek is spectacular (see no. 1 above) and Franscoek itself has a much quieter, more relaxed air than staying in Stellenbosch which can be quite busy and full of traffic.

I stayed at Lanzerac and it was excellent. Great room, great breakfast and stunning views.
