info on safaris and accomadations

i,m planning a trip to sa in the spring of 2008. what kind of prices can i figure on for kruger or chobe. are there reasonable price room around these parks, without paying the big prices i am seeing on the web-sites. i know the tour prices "safaris' are set. what is enough to see without repeating a tour? what can you expect to spend a day to travel sa, botswana ect. i know this question is cut up, but any advice will be helpful. thanks

Chobe is not in South africa. It's about 2 days driving from Johannesburg.

For reasonable prices you need to self drive and stay in SA National Parks accommodation. See the sanparks website: Sanparks

What can you afford, if you don't want to do a self-drive and book accommodation in Kruger by yourself?

The Prince and I did Kruger with Viva Safaris; the price wasn't too bad, at least not by Norwegian standards. Info in my blog in case you're interested.
