can someone advise how many blank pages does one need US passport i plan to fly into jnb then overland to ZIM and back so i need 4 blank ones how big is the stamp does it use up whole page?
Thanks

The RSA entry stamps are normal sized. They should fit easily on a page with room to spare. The Zim stamp covers a full page. They stamp it on your way out. You can get the pages added free at the passport center in Philly. If you're asking the question, you're probably close to full. Don't screw around, especially if you're going into Zim. I went over in '04 at Beitbridge, when the situation was relatively "normal". I did it on my own, but the paperwork on the Zim side was so bysantine, I hired a guide to get me through. I felt it was worth it. If you're driving, be sure your paperwork is in PERFECT order. If your going as part of a group, it should be easier. There are all kinds of fees, coming and going. Good luck. Even though I was only there a short time, Zimbabwe and its citzens left an indelible impression on me. How does such a beautiful place with such wonderful people get so screwed up?
You MUST have 2 totally empty pages for the SA stamp. It's only small, but we were denied boarding last yr en route to SA because my travel companion only had 1 totally blank page and 1 page with just a tiny stamp on it.
Zim is a full stamp. If you arrive in SA, go to Zim and return to SA all within 90 days (the usual length of a temp entry permit) then you'll be allowed back in to SA on that same permit. It won't be extended though.
