Hi,
I will stay for 24 hours in Johannesburg end of September. Will arrive there after an overland tour from Cape Town in the evening and will leave next evening from the International Airport. Any suggestions where to stay regarding the trip to the airport late afternoon and regarding some sightseeing during the day? Any tips on what to see during this short visit?

In Old Mellville you have lot of restaurants.

There is a hostel right near the airport, I think it's called Shoestrings or something. It's very close, and they offer shuttles to and from the airport. I haven't stayed there though, so I can't vouch for accomodations.

I stayed at Brown Sugar backpackers while in Jo-burg and really liked it. The view from the roof is awesome. It's in a quiet neighborhood, and the guy that runs it is very nice and a good cook.
