Hi
We have arranged last minute flights from South America to Jo´Burg (like tomorrow!), and are keen to head back to Kruger.
But all the accommo within the park is booked... of course!
Does anyone know of any good accommodation options in the surrounding areas, not too far from the gates, where we can still feel like we´re staying out in the bush, and have our braai each night, etc?
Camping is fine, simple huts are fine - all we need is the braai and to be out in the bush...
Or should we give up and head to a different park from Jo'Burg?

We stayed at a back packers in Hazyview -- not what you wanted I know but I'm sure there will be other places you'll like around Hazyview, which is only about 30-40 minutes drive from the main gate.

We've stayed at Marc's Tree House Camp and Timbavati lodge. Both were catered but they may have special self catering prices too. Both places are upmarket backpackers/budget hotel standard.

Hazyview is a good option as you have a couple of gates to Kruger within 10-15k and there are quite a lot of accomm options. We camped at Gecko Bushpackers
