Hello everybody,
next month I'll be travelling to SA, the route will be more or less N2 from CT to Durban. We'd like to have a safari to see the big 5.
Do you happen to have any suggestion? I am looking for half a day/a day maximum... too much to see and too short time to see it!

Thank you so much for your help!
Chiara

If you haven't got time to get to Kruger,Imfolozi or the northern parks, then I'd go with Addo.

Easy access from PE.

No guarantee you will see the big 5 of course. ..though you will see plenty of elephants. .

BTW if you are really interested in wildlife then I'd change the schedule and give yourself time for Kruger. ..it's one of the world's greatest wildlife destinations. ..

Thanks Lucapal, I was actually thinking about Addo but as far as I got, there are plenty of elephants but not many other animals.
To be honest, I am more into whales, penguins and waternature in general, but they tell me you cannot skip a Safari if you're in ZA. :)

The Big 5 are all in Addo, but unlikely you will see them all there.

Apart from the very expensive private reserves, its the better choice on your route.

Hi chiara.mangano.9,

If you're interested in seeing whales, penguins etc, Addo has a marine section as well, you can read more about it here:

Hola Chiara.
From CT to Durban, not too many game parks... let´s say only Addo.
But we didn´t like so much the place...quite small... many tourists together (just a few roads)... and not so many animals (this was our experience... it´s always luck)... and around
In our opinion, Addo can´t rank with Kruger, Huluhluwe-Imfolozi (north of Durban in KZN and only 10 €) or even Pilanesberg...
But there are not n your route... and maybe no time.
Pengouins are not far from Cape Town, in Simon´s Town (4 €) and further east on the way to Hermanus in Stony Point (1 €).
Whales are easy to see from the coast in Hermanus, east of Cape Town. Just be patient. They will be there til november (we saw them).
Complete information ... based on our trip... useful infos... on our blog.
Viajes con Mochila
Enjoy

Thank you All very much!
I'd love to visit also the North part of the Country but with only 15 days, there is not much chance unfortunaletly.
I think I'll definitly go for Addo!

thanks a lot!
Chiara
